Job Opening-Retail Store Manager

This position is primarily responsible for the overall sales, profitability, customer service, visual strategies, operations, and inventory management, in coordination with the Company’s goals and objectives. The Store Manager supervises and motivates the store team, providing inspiration to drive sales and exceed customer service expectations through coaching, providing effective feedback and rewards, and recognizing accomplishments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze business, develop a plan, delegate and empower your team to drive consistent results.
  • Determines staffing needs and recruits, selects, orients and trains new employees.
  • Coaches and develops a successful team. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing Company standards. Conducts regular retail staff performance reviews.
  • Provides merchandising leadership and implements creative merchandising strategies for overall look and feel of the store environment.
  • Maintains accurate inventory and ensures monthly inventory counts are conducted effectively and on time.
  • Drives sales and profitability of the store by maintaining inventory levels, providing excellent customer service and training and developing store staff. Identifies trends and develops targets for the betterment of the Company.
  • Collaborates with upper management to diagnose and resolve customer/employee complaints by determining optimal solutions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensures interior and exterior store environment is maintained to Company standards, including merchandising standards, store cleanliness, and employee dress code.
  • Provides guidance and direction and encourages employees to take ownership of their performance and career development plans.
  • Lead by mentoring, encouraging feedback, and motivating others to be extraordinary.
  • Comfortable and eager to implement creative window displays.
  • In tune with the target market lifestyle and constantly providing ideas and solutions to improve the retail store's events, workshops, and products.
  • Organized (inventory control, accurate POS transactions, able to generate attendance to events and execute the experience).
  • Buying liaison and managing product turn and re-buy triggers (approved through Management).
  • Ability to manage and plan in store events. Coordinate and work closely with the creative team on overall store look and customer experience.
  • Assists customer service department with emails and telephone calls and returns.
  • Greets customers upon entering the store in a friendly, engaging, helpful and polite personality.
  • Assists shoppers on product selections; inquiries and complaints; purchases, payment processing and refunds; and ensures cash registers and receipts balance.
  • Reports discrepancies and problems to management.
  • Receives products, stores deliveries, stocks shelves.
  • Responsible for security within the building and being on the lookout for shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards or forms of payment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of retail management experience. More extensive retail experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a retail setting is preferred, but not mandatory.

  • Ability to cite significant achievements demonstrated ability to handle all aspects of retail operational and merchandising management issues, from the delivery of stock to the store to the final sale of the product to the customer.

INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

The position requires constant communication within the department, as well as interface with multiple departments throughout the organization. Strong interpersonal skills and communication with customers are required on a routine basis. Must be able to interact with coworkers productively.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Sits, stands, and walks throughout the day; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and store merchandise for up to 8 hours each day; requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses; hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and on the telephone; lifts up to 50 pounds regularly; exposed to typical retail store environment conditions and noise levels.
