Queen of Hearts: A Note from Dana

When I started working on the Queen of Hearts collection, it really came down to color. I’ve always loved the contrast of red and black; it’s bold, graphic, and has a lot of attitude without trying too hard. Those colors naturally pulled me toward the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. There’s drama there, but also confidence and control. That felt like the right place to start the year.

This is our first collection of the new year, and I wanted it to feel strong right out of the gate.

Queen of Hearts isn’t built around a single piece. It’s more of a collector-style series, with multiple elements that work together. One of the biggest parts of the collection is a new print we designed specifically for this release. We’re not showing it yet, but it plays a big role in how the collection comes together and ties directly into the Queen of Hearts theme.

There are also a lot of details in this collection that we’ll be revealing closer to launch, things we spent time refining that really elevate the pieces without overdoing it and feel like a return to some roots while elevating us into the future.

Audrey, Revisited
Audrey is my personal favorite collection, so it had to be a part of this collection.. It’s a silhouette we intro’d last year, and bringing it back in black and red colorways felt like a natural fit within the Queen of Hearts story, checkerboards being a part of the visual storytelling for both Alice’s world and HARVEYS.

The Inspiration Behind It
Like most of our collections, Queen of Hearts started visually. We’ve been pulling inspiration from art, color, and graphic elements, and you can see that world taking shape on our Queen of Hearts Pinterest board. It’s all part of building the feeling behind the collection before you ever see the bags.

Coming January 9
Queen of Hearts launches online and In Store on January 9th. Between now and then, we’ll start sharing more, the print, the details, and how all the pieces fit together. Make sure you follow along on our social media and tune into our Live @ 5 on Thursday the 8th, 5pm PT.

This collection sets the tone for what’s coming this year, and I’m excited to finally start showing it.
