Release the Bats

Shadows are stirring at Harveys… 🦇 Something new is about to take flight. Our upcoming Release the Bats collection is creeping closer, and while the bags aren’t ready to spread their wings just yet, we couldn’t resist sharing some of the inspiration, vibes, and spooky fun leading up to launch.

Want to see what’s been haunting our mood boards? Take a peek at our Pinterest inspiration board for a taste of what’s to come.

Dark & Dreamy Inspirations

When we set out to design Release the Bats, we pulled from a rich tapestry of gothic muses, a little spooky, a little campy, and entirely romantic. Think the campy dramatic flair of Elvira, the eerie elegance of Silver Era spooky cinema, the shadowy Victorian and Romantic worlds of Mary Shelley and Bram Stoker, and the punky edge of 80’s goth and new wave.

We also found ourselves charmed by the quirky, inky works of artists like Edward Gorey, whose work quietly shaped much of the spooky aesthetic of artists we love like Tim Burton.

Curated Vibes: The Release the Bats Playlist

Every collection needs a soundtrack. We pulled together a playlist of spooky classics, goth favorites, and moody tracks to set the tone for October nights.

Head on over to our Spotify to press play while you’re carving pumpkins, heading out for a night at the theater, or accessorizing your look with your new bat bag (soon).

Things To Do This Spooky Season (OC Edition)

Frankenstein Ballet at the Segerstrom

A hauntingly beautiful retelling of Mary Shelley’s classic story through ballet. It’s playing through this Thursday to Sunday, so book a ticket for after the release so you can go to the ballet in style with your new Bat Bow Handbag!

Bat Watching at OC Parks

Enjoy an evening discovering the important role bats play in our ecosystems and how they help us stay bug-bite free! It’s happening this Saturday Night at Clark Park in Buena Park so it’s a perfect opportunity to bring your park ready bat crossbody bag.

Roger’s Gardens Midnight Market

Explore spooky décor, seasonal treats, and Halloween fun at this iconic OC destination. We actually just visited the midnight market, we will be posting that on our social media soon so make sure you follow us to see that!

Community Spotlight: Bat Conservation

Bats aren’t just spooky icons, they’re pollinators, insect-controllers, and essential to healthy ecosystems. We’re spotlighting Bat Conservation International, a nonprofit working to protect bat species worldwide.

The Countdown Begins

The bats take flight soon… but not quite yet. Our Release the Bats collection officially lands on First Friday at 8am.

In the meantime, make sure you’re following us on Instagram, TikTok, and even our Pinterest inspiration board for sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes looks, and maybe a few spooky surprises.
